titiivistelmä teoksesta:

Nelihenkinen Lentävä puutarha -taiteilijaryhmä työskentelee tänä kesänä eri puolilla Satakuntaa tehden huonekasveihin sekä kuljettamiseen kytkeytyvää taideteosta. Ryhmä toimii yhteistyössä Porin taidemuseon kanssa (Korsi-komissio) ja teos on suhteessa taiteilija Laura Liljan juhlanäyttelyyn.

Pyydämme ihmisiltä huonekasveja hoitoon ja kokoamme ne tilapäisiin installaatioihin, jotka esitetään asukkaille saavutettavassa julkisessa tilassa. Rakenteet luodaan kierrätetyistä kuormaliinoista, jotka korostavat kasvien matkankäyntiä ja merenkulkua. Yksi ryhmän jäsen kuljettaa huonekasvin Suomesta Tanskaan polkupyörällä tarjoten kasville kansainvälisen ulkoilukokemuksen. Matkasta ja toiminnasta kirjoitetaan blogia sekä striimataan suoria lähetyksiä.

Lentävistä puutarhoista sekä kasvin matkasta kuvataan 8mm filmille valotettu elokuva, joka kehitetään kasvikemiallisia prosesseja hyödyntäen. Elokuva esitetään Sensommar elokuvafestivaaleilla sunnuntaina 31.8. ja se on suunnattu huonekasveille, joita kutsumme yleisöä tuomaan näytökseen.

Summary of the artwork:

The four-member Flying Garden artist group is working in different parts of Satakunta this summer, creating an artwork related to houseplants and transportation. The group works in collaboration with the Pori Art Museum (Korsi Commission) and the work is related to the artist Laura Lilja’s anniversary exhibition.

We ask people to take care of houseplants and assemble them into temporary installations, which are presented in a public space accessible to residents. The structures are created from recycled cargo nets that emphasize the journey and seafaring of plants. One member of the group transports a houseplant from Finland to Denmark by bicycle, offering the plant an international outdoor experience. A blog will be written about the journey and activities and live streams will be broadcasted.

A film will be shot on 8mm film about the flying gardens and the plant’s journey, which will be developed using phytochemical processes. The film will be shown at the Sensommar Film Festival on Sunday, August 31st and is aimed at houseplants, which we invite the public to bring to the screening.
