Abstract:

This thesis explores subjects around the internet and social media from the

perspectives of watching and directing of sight, as well as the artist and the

creative process. What is the relationship between virtual and actual reality,

and what kind of behavior do the hidden structures of the internet produce? Is

it possible to exit the internet and what are the alternatives?

Tässä opinnäytetyössä käsitellään esseistisesti internetiä ja sosiaalista

mediaa ilmiöinä katsomisen ja katseen suuntaamisen sekä taiteilijan ja

teosprosessin näkökulmista. Mikä on virtuaalisen ja aktuaalisen todellisuuden

suhde toisiinsa sekä minkälaista käyttäytymistä internetin piilotetut rakenteet

tuottavat? Voiko internetistä poistua ja mitä vaihtoehtoja sille on?
